4、SAT 需要多少单词量
一般美国高中毕业生的词汇量在12000个以上,所以对SAT词汇量的要求也就定在了12000个,很多考生纠结于SAT词汇数量的硬性要求,认为如果自己没有背完10000个单词,就表明自己词汇不达标,实际上是个误区。SAT 词汇量是个比较抽象的概念,到目前都没有一种方式可以很准确地测出一个人的词汇量究竟有多少,而且大家要明白SAT词汇量和最终的考试成绩也不一定成正比。也就是说即使你背会了10000个SAT单词,你也不一定能考到2000分以上,只表明你考高分的可能性会比较大。SAT 考试对词汇的考察并不是单纯考察词汇的意思,即使是和词汇关联最大的填空题,也并不只是考察词汇的意思。要想在填空部分取得高分,更多的是依赖句子成分的划分和逻辑推理的能力。所以,对于SAT词汇量要求,要量力而为。先把最核心的超高频词汇搞定,大概在3500—4000左右。这些超高频词汇才是真正的硬性要求,也就是必须掌握的内容,因为它们出现的频率太高,如果准备不足,很容易在考场上丢分。完成了第一步,如果还有时间和精力,再来进一步扩充自己的词汇量。当然,如果时间充足,还是建议大家能尽可能多地补充SAT高频词汇,因为词汇量越大,胜算的可能性就越大。比如说阅读,虽然阅读部分考查的是学生的阅读能力,而非词汇。但如果一篇文章,大部分单词都认识,生词很少,理解起来当然更容易些
